Join our Sunday Ride

Our club rides are a great way to explore the local area. A cafe stop is always included and provides a good opportunity to socialise over a coffee and cake.

  • The rides leave at 9.00am
  • We meet at the car park by UE Coffee Roasters (11A – 11B Windrush Ind. Park, Linkwood Road, Witney OX29 7HA).
  • The rides will finish either back at UE or in Witney.

There are a variety of groups and speeds to choose from, please see our groups and speeds page to find out which group would suit you best.

Joining a ride as a Club member

Our weekly Sunday Club rides are coordinated through Spond, a sports club management app which is free to download (Apple & Android) or can be accessed via the web site Spond.

Access to our Spond group is restricted to Club members. Once you have joined and been accepted as a Club member, you will be sent an invite to join our Spond group. From here you will be able to see details of planned rides and sign up to whichever group you choose.

  • Access to the Club Spond group is only approved for Club members.
  • Invites for Sunday rides are automatically sent out via Spond at 5pm each Monday.

Joining a ride as a non-Club member

Our weekly Sunday rides are posted on Facebook. If you would like to join us, then please comment on the post and let us know which group you would like to try. If you’re not on Facebook, then drop us an email via our Contact Page and we will let the Ride Leader know to expect you.

Please note we offer two trial rides before asking you to join the Club.

Our Ride Leader Responsibilities

Every week, a different Club member volunteers to be the Ride Leader for their group. The role of Ride Leader within MCCC is not the same as defined by British Cycling, Cycling UK, etc., and is an informal role with no specific authority over the group. Our Ride Leaders are responsible for creating and share a route and usually arrange a café stop as appropriate. They will divide a group into smaller numbers if necessary, and check for updates from the Welfare Officer if adverse weather conditions are expected.

All individuals are responsible for their own safely and are expected to ride in accordance with the Group Riding Guidance and Club Etiquette.

Our ‘Ride Leader Guidance’ can be found on our ‘Policies and Documents’ page along with our ‘Adverse Weather Policy’.
